The White House is having a special promotion that allows couples to enter a sweepstakes if they eat Valentine’s dinner there between Feb. 12 and Feb. 16.
If you like the food at the White House, this could be a pretty good deal, because, let’s face it, millions of couples aren’t going to have time to dine there over the course of four days.
The prize includes not only the reception catering, but also other goodies, including a ring, video, photography and more.
The restaurant’s information on its Web site says the prize is worth $20,000, but its Facebook page now says it’s worth $40,000, maybe they’ve added some stuff, in any event, it’s worth a lot of money.

Calling all engaged couples…the Anaheim White House is offering to pay for your wedding reception for up to 100 guests at the newly unveiled West Wing. The package is valued at $40,000. In order to qualify, you must mention that you wish to enter the contest when you make a dinner reservation anytime between February 12 – 16, 2010 and the winner will be selected at random, announced owner Bruno Serato.
Serato opened the 1,800 square-foot banquet hall on the grounds of his historic Anaheim White House in November. The luxury facility, which is available for parties of 20 to 180, is ideal for wedding receptions, business meetings, corporate affairs, large family gatherings and charity events.
The elegant interior features a cream and gold palette with several Swarovski crystal chandeliers, gold cane back chairs draped in gold fabric and Venetian drapes. The centerpiece is a unique ceiling design composed of a unique material from the Ukraine featuring a gold design pattern accented with touches of turquoise.
The restaurant itself is a 300-plus seat fine dining establishment originally designed as a private home when first built in 1909. Serato purchased it in 1987. In the ensuing years, the restaurant has received scores of prestigious accolades and highly coveted distinctions. They range from a “three-star” rating in the Mobil Guide and consistently high rankings in the Zagat Dining Guide to the International Five Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, the North American DiRoNA award and the Golden Sceptre award from the California Restaurant Writers Association.
