Bruno Serato To Receive Walk Of Stars Honor
By California Desk

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Bruno Serato, owner of the popular Anaheim White House Restaurant, will receive a star on the Anaheim/Orange County Walk of Stars, Tuesday, Aug. 19 during a 2 p.m. ceremony. Serato´s star will be located on Harbor Blvd., near Disneyland´s main entrance.

Special guests scheduled to honor Serato at the ceremony include Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle, Anaheim Council Members, State Congressman Ed Royce, Ed Grier, president of the Disneyland Resort, Celebrity Chef Jamie Gwen, Serato's sister, Stella Ibay, and Michael Baker, president of the Boys and Girls Club in Anaheim.

As the recipient of the eighth star on the Walk of Stars, Serato joins other Anaheim/Orange County leaders, such as Walt Disney, Margaret and Carl Karcher, Henry and Susan Samueli, the Yorba family, the Taormina family, Gene Autry, and Monsignor John Sammon, to receive the honor.

In 1987 Serato assumed ownership of the Anaheim White House Restaurant and introduced a new taste to fine dining, blending northern Italian and French influences. His world-class menu has attracted many notable guests, such as President George W. Bush, Madonna, Andrea Bocelli, and the Crowned Prince of Belgium.

Born in France and raised both in France and in Italy, Serato remains committed to his humble family roots, and continually seeks ways to give back to the community and inspire others. Among the organizations he supports are the Boys and Girls Clubs in Anaheim, Paint Your Heart Out, an organization that renovates the homes of the elderly and infirmed, and Caterina´s Girls Club, which Serato founded in honor of his mother to benefit underprivileged girls in Anaheim. His philanthropic efforts have raised nearly $1 million for various endeavors.

Serato´s support of the Anaheim Boys & Girls Club is demonstrated in his delivery of 100 dinners every night to "motel" children, children whose parents can only afford to reside in low-cost motel rooms. To ensure successful delivery, Serato purchased and donated a fully equipped van for the Boys and Girls Club.

In addition to supporting charitable endeavors, Serato has fully embraced the American sprit. Since 2006, his restaurant has provided lunch for members of the U.S. Men´s National Volleyball team. The team, which moved their training location to Anaheim from Colorado Springs and is currently competing at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, trains at the American Sports Centers, located near the Anaheim White House on Anaheim Blvd. Serato´s staff serves lunch to the players each day during the volleyball training season.

Anaheim White House Restaurant awards include the "International Five Star Diamond Award" from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences and top rankings in the Zagat Dining Guide.
